One month ago, we explained that the netlabel música vermella was going to organize a netaudio activity in the RauchHaus (Hausprojekt) of Berlin on 11th-13th February, three days of workshops, meetings and parties, just after one week of the ClubTransmediale festival.

Pol, one of the artists of música vermella netlabel, has sent us a complete report of the activity and some photos of the events. Thanks for the report and the organization of the event!

We encourage more netlabels and activists to organize meetings, talks about netlabels/free music, concerts and parties about netaudio and Creative Commons music. I’m sure the netaudio platforms (France, Italy, The Netherlands, Spain, …) and big festivals (Berlin, London, Cologne, future Portugal, …) will support you!

Report of música.vermella @ RauchHaus (Hausprojekt) Berlin

On Thursday, February 11th, the series of activities were opened with a master class of dubstep production at the Spukommune room of the RauchHaus, conducted by Pisu with the help of Yarkouy, which lasted 5 hours, from 7pm until 12 o’clock at night. The audience showed great interest and it was very gratifying for the authors after making music for such a long time. On Friday 12th at the same Spukommune, a Circuit Bending workshop was developed by Kmpru, preceding the his own concert, with great success and interest from the attendance.

After the initial activities, on Saturday 13th, a meeting point of netlabels in Berlin was held. Even it was expected to have a larger attendance, it wasn’t less interesting. With the presence of members of the Netaudio Festival Berlin organization and netlabels like Crazy Lenguage among other people interested in the content of the conversation, a discussion took place about the role of the netlabel as a tool of dissemination and creation of free music, through the use and role of Creative Commons licenses and how they could promote music or afect the netlabel movement, as well as topics as economy in netlabels or legal rights.

The day ended with a big party including live acts from the música.vermella artists, which lasted from 12 midnight until 9 am, with a large audience and an evolutive and very nice atmosphere. The line-up began with 4cantons, abstract hiphop and IDM, followed by Wermonster with a hip-hop and accelerated tunes preceding Pisu, with its imposing dubstep bass and drums. The party changed its line with Madame, who continued dubstepping and linking with a mixture of IDM and Breakcore, leaving his place to Yarkouy, sitting on a strong accelerated dub/breaks. Nearly closing the party, Raza Roja, gave us a great audiovisual performance with breakstep/IDM and delicate visuals. The night was closed by the noise and strange machines from Kmpru.

We must thank the collaboration of the platforms Netaudio Berlin and netaudio.es, and also the work and the excellent care of the people from RauchHaus, as well as all the artists of the party and the people attending the workshops; also the crowd from the party that provided the heat to close all these activities with a huge smile. Thank you very much.
